The Apprentice star has sold what is believed to be the most expensive house in the United States for a whopping $95 million.
“I love breaking records,” the ever-humble Trump, 62, said Wednesday. “And this is a record.”
Despite the nearly nine-digit price tag, Trump insists the buyer, Russian fertilizer tycoon Dmitry Rybolovlev, has landed a bargain.
“At the same time, I believe the buyer made an absolutely fantastic deal, and time will prove this right,” the Palm Beach Post quotes the real-estate developer as saying.
It’s no load of, ahem, fertilizer. Trump’s original asking price was $125 million.
Trump may soon be outdone by his very own buyer, though. Rybolovlev, estimated to be worth $12.8 billion, is said to be considering tearing down Trump’s house and putting up his own.
That could potentially qualify as history’s most expensive teardown, the Post notes.
A growing number of businesses are asking that question in hopes of snagging more customers in an economy hammered by skyrocketing fuel prices.
With gas prices at or above $4 a gallon, free gas has become the hot marketing tool of this summer.
Lincoln Shores, an apartment complex in St. Petersburg, Florida is offering a $100 gas card to new tenants who pay their deposit and move in within 24 hours. Anyone who leases a loft apartment from Newport Villas, an apartment complex in South Tampa, will also receive a $100 gas card.
Isn’t it worth moving there just for the free gas? … nope!
